Abba: You Can Dance – The game
Ubisoft, the French game development studio behind titles such as FarCry, Splintercell, Prince of Persia and Assassin’s creed have announced their intention to release a dancing game for the wii platform that features the world famous Swedish pop group, Abba.
I, for one, had hoped Abba‘s music had laid to rest once and for all after their fame and glory ended in the late 70′s only to see it emerge from the flames like a phoenix in the 2008 movie Mamma Mia and a Singstar game for the Playstation also in 2008 and now again in 2011 in a wii game. What is the world coming to? Are we running out of ideas for games?
I am not a fan of dancing games, never have been and never will be. The closest you will see me to a dancing game is Guitar Hero. However this new Abba title should be really popular with people who loved the Mamma Mia movie and babyboomers who rocked with Abba in the 70′s then forced their kids (like me) to listen to Dancing Queen in the 80′s.
This is not the first dance title of Ubisoft’s and it won’t be their last. They had massive success with the Michael Jackson: The Experience dance game and the super popular Just Dance series.
Other dance titles by Ubisoft expected out later this year include The Black Eyed Peas Experience and Just Dance 3
