Depp Back At Sea And Down The Rabbit Hole

    September 25th, 2008

Johnny Depp has signed on to star in the fourth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Walt Disney Studios chairperson Dick Cook confirmed on Wednesday, however the names Orlando and Keira were not mentioned.

Not only will Depp be claiming booty from POTC, but he has also signed on for a remake of the old T.V. series The Lone Ranger and is also on-board Tim Burton’s big screen adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s children’s novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, playing the Mad Hatter.

    Who will watch Watchmen?

    September 22nd, 2008

Well, at this rate, it seems that nobody will.

Warner Brothers planned to release the adaptation of the Alan Moore graphic novel in March next year, but due to the legal battle going on between Fox and Warner Bro’s, the film may only see the light of a cinema reel much later than expected.

In filings made on Friday, Fox has said that it will seek an injunction in blocking Warner’s planned release of the movie. Warner argues that Fox should not be allowed to stop the movie after standing by and allowing Warner and partners (Paramount Pictures and Legendary Pictures) spend over $100 million in bring the graphic-epic to the big screen, which has been directed by Zack Snyder, of 300 fame.

The filings also reported conflicting trial dates, either June if Fox has it way, or April if Warner prevails. Mr Gordon (Fox producer who ‘owned’ the rights) and partners Paramount, Legendary and even Universal Pictures can be expected to be drawn into the legal action.

Heroes Season 3 – The Second Coming

    September 22nd, 2008

Heroes returns tonight with its 2 hour long premier for season 3. The Second Coming, the name of the first episode, sees the saga take a more villain-themed approach than the previous seasons. This new volume aims at adding more conflict, more characters, more powers and much more to look forward too than the second season that was disrupted by the strike.

The first episode (aired earlier this year at Comic-Con) updates where most of the characters are and gives a good sense of the direction of where this season will be going. A future and more darker Peter and Claire are seen, Hiro is on a new mission, and Matt is alone is a dessert.

To find out more don’t miss the 2 hour season premier tonight!
